Act 5 Scene 3
( Cassio goes and visits Iago in his cell )
Cassio: ( To Iago ) What a catastrophe, the two people that were destined to be something precious and charitable and all gone to hell because of YOU!
Iago: I don’t regret a thing! I will do it all over again if I could.
Cassio: You monster, only if I knew what your reason for all this was for…
Iago: I SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE LIEUTENANT, I SHOULD HAVE BEEN OTHELLO’S RIGHT HAND FIGHTING BY HIS SIDE IN THE WAR.
Cassio: Oh you poor piece of MANURE!!!! All this chaos over a RANK!
( Dukes Guard enter the cell )
Dukesguard: Iago, You sir have been pardoned by the Duke, you are free to go.
Iago: Haa!!!!!!! YES! God truly exists. Good bye Cassio!
Cassio: What is this MADNESS!! I shall speak with the Duke immediately.
( They all exit )
Cassio: Why have you pardoned the number one villain of Venice?
Duke: Iago’s service to the military has been good. Therefore he is forgiven.
Cassio: WHAT?! What has he ever done to be forgiven? He’s turned the perfect couple against other, playing mind trick games so his selfish being can be pleased. A man with that mentality shouldn’t be pardoned… should be MURDERED!
( Cassio leaves )
Cassio: I swear to the god Iago doesn’t even deserve the thought of being pardoned let alone be actually for real be pardoned. This is fate I am destined to kill Iago. All my life I’ve spent killing bad people, I might as well do it again. Iago is dead to me and I shall make sure of it. Poor Desdemona she was the perfect match for Othello. No one in Venice can compare the love that Othello and Desdemona had with each other, it’s just sad that people like Iago exist. As soon as they see someone doing well they just want to take it all away. I cannot lie Iago’s plan was brilliant but only if his brilliance to plan something was used for good… the great man Iago would have become. Iago’s poor decision making has led to this and I will put an end to it before he intends to make another plan to end another wonderful marriage.
( Cassio grabs his best sword and leaves. )
Cassio: Iago, you murderous villain! Reveal yourself! You’d think just because you’ve been pardoned the past has been forgotten? Sir you are very WRONG!
Iago: Poor Cassio, a man of vengeance, you never seem to let things go. You are always trying to be the hero but your days are over!
Cassio: YOU DEMON! I will put an end to you!
( Cassio draws his sword )
Iago: You are going to kill an unarmed man? What a valiant lieutenant you are. COWARD!
( Cassio throws Iago a spare sword )
Cassio: Any more excuses?
( Both swords are drawn and a fight happens )
( Cassio and Iago trade stabs )
( Iago Dies )
( Cassio Dies )
