The Madness of Materialism
Many men in the past have sacrificed their lives for money. The phrase or as I
would like to say a famous slogan is “Money doesn’t guarantee happiness” is over-rated and it’s
been misused for the wrong intentions. That slogan is constantly used and many people agree to
it but I disagree because without money you can’t feed your family or yourself, you can’t
provide shelter and basic tools needed to have happiness. Without money you will be in debt,
have bad credit and be behind in society which all accumulates to stress and depression not
happiness. As Taylor describes acquisitiveness and how materialism relates to man. What this
means is that men are attached to materials that have value. I agree with Taylor’s theory because
these people were so obsessed that they took people’s lives and became aggressive the
population of Native Americans plummeted viciously because of men acquisitiveness to
Materialism.
